Appréciant la méthode « hollandaise » avec le sèche-cheveux, j’ai fait quelques essais mais je trouve qu’il n’est pas toujours facile de bien maîtriser le résultat. Le souffle du sèche-cheveux est généralement puissant et son champ d’action assez large. J’ai donc essayé avec une paille mais là c’est trop ciblé sur une petite surface. J’ai donc opté pour une méthode que je trouve un peu plus facile qui consiste à souffler directement avec la bouche.

Que ce soit sur une création bicolore ou pas, la technique reste la même. Une fois la peinture de base versée sur le support, je verse mes couleurs les unes sur les autres soit en faisant un rond si la surface est petite , soit en faisant de grandes lignes pour les plus grands supports. Je termine toujours par verser en dernière couche une couleur métallique: or, argent, cuivre…. Ensuite je verse autour des couleurs un peu de peinture de base et j’utilise une spatule pour recouvrir les couleurs par cette peinture de base. Je termine en soufflant et en passant la torche dessus.

Loving the « Dutch » method with the hair dryer, I did some tests but I find that it is not always easy to master the result. The breath of the hair dryer is generally powerful and its field of action quite broad. So I tried with a straw but in this case it is too targeted and on too small area. I therefore opted for a method which I find a little easier which consists in blowing directly with the mouth.

Whether it’s a two-tone creation or not, the technic remains the same. Once the base paint has been poured on the support, I pour my colors on top of each other either by making a circle if the surface is small, or by making broad lines for the largest supports. I always finish by pouring the last layer of a metallic color: gold, silver, copper …. Then I pour around the colors a little bit of the basic paint and then I use a spatula to cover the colors with this  base paint. I finish by blowing (with the mouth) and passing the torch over it.
